About me
I am 31 year old wife, model and health obsessed individual. I began my fitness journey just a short time ago. After finding out in April of 2011 that I was one of the many women around the world with PCOS I realized a few months later that simply following ill thought out plan my OBGYN gave me would never get me to where I wanted to be.
Let's backtrack for a few minutes. I was raised to believe that a woman's physical appearance was always going to be the focal point. Regardless of how polite or intelligent you were, physical appearance would always determine the quality of your life. I was a pageant baby, My mother still has my trophies on the wall at home. I was enrolled in ballet, etiquette classes and piano. I was being raised to become a Miss America contestant. Don't get me wrong, I would still compete today, but it was all for the wrong reasons.
In my teen years I continued to model but I was too curvy for the time. I was told by a modeling agency I was too fat. It's incredible what that will do to a 15 year old girl. After a few years of dealing with an eating disorder, depression and a suicide attempt, I chose to forget about modeling. As time went on and I came into my own I lost control of my body. For a long time I thought it was all my fault. I didn't know enough about health, food & fitness. I didn't know I had PCOS and I certainly didn't know what would work.

Suffering from depression didn't make matters easier, it never does. This time it wasn't just one eating disorder, it was a combination of a few. More severe depression, malnutrition and physical exhaustion pushed me over the edge again. Thankfully I enventually figured things out.
After doing a round of hCG...something I do not recommend to most people, not because it's bad but because it should only be a last resort...I discovered Paleo and P90X. The hCG was the push I needed, it got my weightloss moving and after that it was up to me.
The combination of paleo and P90X changed my life. I went from 238 lbs (my weight after hCG) to 180 lbs. I had not seen those numbers on the scale since I was in my early teens. I regained my self confidence and decided to get back into modeling. I still model today. My struggles made me think about how many other men and women are out there feeling the way I did. That hope they may be close to losing, if they haven't lost it already inspired my next move.
While discussing paleo and exercise with my coworker, friend and Beachbody Coach Cheryl, the topic of Beachbody came up. Sure I had heard of it, I used P90X myself. What I didn't know is that there were actual coaches, a community and a great support system! It wasn't long after that when I signed up to be a coach as well. I found my calling and an amazing group of people committed to help others succeed as well.
