My P90X Experience

One night while staying up late watching infomercials I say a P90X one and it just peaked my interest. I had recently done a round of hCG and was looking to lose more weight and get healthier without the aid of hCG. So I caved, I ordered P90X that very night.

P90X was just what I needed as not a beginner to exercise, but a beginner to a beginner to the right kind of exercise. I wasn't drawn in by their guarantee that I would be ripped in 90 days because well, I still had a lot of fat to lose. The program is geared towards those that want to improve their physical appearance, I fit right into that category.

The program incorporated plenty of compound movements and flirts with yoga and plyometrics. To this day the YogaX dvd is still my favor te! My P90X package arrived and it included the resistance bands used in the workouts as well as a pull up bar that unfortunately I never used. Along with the workouts I started taking a few supplements and the P90X Recovery Drink. Since I have PCOS I did not use the nutrition plan that came with the program and it did not affect me negatively.

I prioritized my workouts, I had a goal I wanted to meet and it came before anything. Unfortunately for me, I did not know at the time there was such a huge community to keep me accountable and help me stay motivated. I think I would've done better if I knew that then. Still I did well. Even surrounded by saboteurs at work that constantly felt the need to offer me cake and donuts, I stuck to it and didn't cave. A few times I tried to get them to join me in my journey but they didn't have the motivation they needed.

Overall I found the workouts fun. It was my daily treat because I knew the more I kept at the better it would work. After my 90 days of P90X I went from 223.8 lbs to 185 lbs, the lowest number on the scale I've seen since I was 19! I'm still not where I was to be, but I'm not stopping until I get there. The next few months will be hectic and I hope they don't keep me from my goals, but I'm excited...I'm getting married soon!
